Join us for a wine-lover’s day out in the beautiful region of Jerez, home of Spain’s iconic sherry wine! Between two different winery visits, you’ll dive into the complex world of sherry at a 19th century bodega, and you’ll taste delicious reds, whites and rosés at a modern, family-run winery! This day trip will be complete with lunch at one of the most well-loved taverns in Jerez, where you’ll taste the dishes locals can’t get enough of. This is a dream day trip for wine experts and curious beginners alike!

    STOP-BY-STOP

Kick things off by meeting your local guide in Seville and boarding your private transport to Jerez. On the drive there, your guide will arm you with key background information as you hear the story of Jerez and its fascinating winemaking traditions.

The first stop of the day is a winery located down narrow dirt tracks and deep in the heart of the sherry triangle. You’ll get a private tour of this spectacular winery, its underground cellar and the organic vineyards before trying some of its stand-out wines. The wines will be paired with a charcuterie board filled with cured meats, cheese and seasonal fruit.

Having whet your appetite, it’s time to head into Jerez and embark on a cultural stroll through the beautiful city center, passing by some of the city’s iconic monuments and experiencing the unique atmosphere at the city’s lively food market.

Next, it’s time to head to the second winery of the day—one of Jerez’s most emblematic sherry bodegas! You’ll see the unique way sherry wine is produced and come to understand what makes it so special to this region. Armed with your newfound sherry knowledge, it’s time for a tasting! You’ll sample a selection of the bodega’s finest sherry wines, and get valuable tips on how best to pair each unique drink.

Finally, it’s time for lunch! Your local guide will take you off the beaten track to visit one of the city’s most iconic taverns. During lunch, you’ll enjoy fabulous local wine paired with a selection of special tapas, discovering incredible local cuisine with each bite!

At the end of the day, your private transport will take you back to the initial meeting point in Seville.

And, of course, you’ll get our Devouring Seville mini-guide which is packed with all our favorite places to eat in the city. Plus, exclusive to this tour, you’ll also get our Seville Wine Guide, which will ensure the great wine flows freely for the rest of your trip.

    Rave Reviews for This Tour

Great question! A Devour Seville food tour is a fun, fascinating and (most importantly!) delicious introduction to the incredible city of Seville or the surrounding region. Our food tours visit some of the best traditional eateries, including tapas bars, local markets, taverns and shops, and hidden gems that few even know exist! You’ll taste some of the best local food, and gain fascinating insight into its age-old traditions. We keep our groups small and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows the area like the back of their hand, and loves it to bits.
The tour lasts approximately 8 hours (give or take 15 minutes). The tour covers approximately 1.5km/1mile
Don’t worry, you won’t be part of a massive hoard following a guide with a flag or a flamenco fan! We keep our groups small and intimate, so the tour can squeeze into small, hidden places and you get personal time with your guide. The maximum number of guests on this tour is usually 10 people and we only require 4 guests to operate a tour.
We want as many people to be able to enjoy our tours as possible. Scroll up the page a little to see what dietary restrictions this tour is adaptable for.
Given the wine-focused nature of this tour, it's not available for guests under 18 years old. For families, we suggest our daytime tour, or our Tapas & Flamenco Tour or our evening Tapas, Taverns & History Tour (which is available for teens).
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10-15%.
Most importantly, your appetite! Also, keep in mind that tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain. Also, we recommend you wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be walking a few kilometres. Finally, while we do serve water on the tour at some stops, we recommend you bring a bottle of water.
Of course! We regularly offer private tours to families, groups of friends and corporate groups. Email us your group size, the date you'd like the tour and anything else you'd like us to keep in mind, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
