What to Expect on Your Tour

    TOUR SNAPSHOT:
Be swept up in Seville’s most colorful celebration, the annual April Fair. Take a tour of the fairgrounds and learn how locals eat, drink and dance the week away. Then, enjoy an exclusive lunch of traditional tapas at a private caseta, a beautiful tent locals put up each year where they go to enjoy the fun! After a few sherry spritzers, you might even be tempted to try your hand at Sevillanas, a flamenco-inspired dance!

    STOP BY STOP:
Meet your local guide next to Seville’s beautiful Guadalquivir River and cross the San Telmo bridge into the bustling Los Remedios neighborhood. Stroll down Asunción street alongside hundreds of locals headed to the fair as you learn the history behind the city’s biggest festival! Hint: What once was a humble livestock exchange is now the most anticipated social event of the year!

After pictures at the main gate, enjoy a walking tour of the fairgrounds. The enormous enclosure boasts 12 streets and more than 1,000 private tents, hundreds of beautiful horse-drawn carriages and plenty of fair rides for the little ones!

Next it’s time to experience the ambience of a private caseta, where you’ll sit down for lunch! (Remember—not just anyone can enter these private tents—you must be invited or actually belong to the organization that rents it!)

For lunch, you’ll sit down and enjoy the most quintessential fair food! From fried fish to piping hot Spanish tortilla and endless pitchers of sherry spritzers, you’ll have lunch with the locals before the grand finale—a dance with your local guide!

Afterwards, make your way back to the main gate, or continue enjoying the magic of the April Fair on your own!

As with all Devour Seville tours, your guide will give you a copy of our Devouring Seville guide, which is packed with all our favorite places to eat and drink in the city! So put down your guidebook and get ready to experience Seville like a local!

Great question! A Devour Seville food tour is a fun, fascinating and (most importantly!) delicious introduction to the incredible city of Seville. Our food tours visit some of the city’s best traditional eateries, including tapas bars, local markets, taverns and shops, and hidden gems that few even know exist! You’ll taste some of Seville's best local food, and gain fascinating insight into its age-old traditions. We keep our groups small and every tour is led by an English-speaking guide who knows Seville like the back of their hand, and loves it to bits.
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours (give or take 15 minutes). The walking distance of the tour covers approximately 3km/1.9 miles.
Don’t worry, you won’t be part of a massive hoard following a guide with a flag or a flamenco fan! We keep our groups small and intimate, so the experience can squeeze into small, hidden places and you get personal time with your guide. The maximum number of guests on this tour is usually 8 people and we only require two guests to operate an experience.
We want as many people to be able to enjoy our tours as possible. Scroll up the page a little to see what dietary restrictions this tour is adaptable for.
Families love getting a true taste of Seville together on this tour, and the tastes are suited to kids and teens. Please note that due to the limited availability of this tour, we cannot offer discounted child and teen pricing. Regardless, we look forward to having your family along!
The tour does not include transport to the meeting place, or from the ending point (ask your guide for guidance at the end of the tour if you’re not sure where you are). Also, please feel free to tip your guide if you think they did a great job! The standard gratuity in the tour industry is 10-15%.
Most importantly, your appetite! Also, keep in mind that tours take place rain or shine, so please dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if it looks like rain.
Of course! We regularly offer private tours to families, groups of friends and corporate groups. Email us your group size, the date you'd like the tour and anything else you'd like us to keep in mind, and we'll get back to you within 24 hours.
